A life of public service
We are not asking anyone to become a Republican. We are asking Michigan to look at the two names on the ballot and pick the one who will give us a better future. Mike Rogers has proven that he will listen, work to find solutions, and respect those who don't always agree with him. He has a record of working across party lines to get things done. Mike Rogers voted for President Obama's auto rescue to save Michigan jobs. He voted against his party on the Wall Street bailout. As House Intelligence Chairman, he worked with the Obama administration to keep us safe and bring Osama Bin Laden to justice. He is committed to working with us.
Mike Rogers has dedicated his life to public service.
Born and raised in Michigan, Mike Rogers worked in an auto plant to pay his way through Adrian College.
He then began a life of service to others. He served as a Lieutenant in the United States Army, then became an F.B.I. Special Agent working to fight organized crime, human trafficking and public corruption.
After his career in law enforcement, Mike Rogers continued to serve as a State Senator, where he focused on education issues and authored the bipartisan legislation that created Michigan's 529 College Savings Program.
Following that, Mike Rogers decided to serve his state again, this time in the U.S. House of Representatives where he sought to build a bipartisan legacy. Rogers worked again on education issues, helping to eliminate federal taxes on education savings plans and passing bipartisan legislation that helped low-income families receive healthcare.
Mike Rogers also served as the House Intelligence Committee Chairman, a committee that historically has been a place where both parties work together to keep America safe. In that role he worked with Democrats on his committee and with President Obama's administration to fight terrorist networks and help bring Osama Bin Laden to justice.
Mike Rogers then went into the private sector, creating a business focusing on American innovation and technology, particularly in cyber security and protecting American companies from China.
Mike's approach to government service is something his entire family embodies. His wife Kristi served in Iraq as a liaison for the Department of Defense and also for Customs and Border Protection. His daughter served in AmeriCorps, the program founded by President Bill Clinton. And his son became the fourth generation of Rogers family members to serve in the U.S. military, graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy and currently serving in the U.S. Navy.
Mike Rogers believes in the importance of public service. He works to find bipartisan solutions. He listens and he embodies the values he believes in. He will be a great Senator for the state of Michigan.
